'Meet Me On The Stairs' A3 Archival Print
Now on display as part of the ‘Memory, Time and Country’ at Kingston Arts Centre, a beautiful group exhibition also featuring ENOKi (Darcy McConnell) and Madi (Ghostgum).
Catching trams through the city, I often find myself passing sweet homes lining the streets, noticing the lives people live, sometimes similar and sometimes different. Overflowing potted plants, drying clothes, stacked bicycles. And sometimes I spot people too, in the homes they’ve made.
I love these moments, where I get a sneak peak into other people’s busy lives. This particular scene is inspired by a sunny stairwell I saw near Fitzroy, on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people. Imagined neighbours meeting on a shared stairway, saying hello, spending time with each other.
Digital illustration printed on beautiful archival quality Canson Rag Photographique 310gsm paper by Hound & Bone in Brunswick.
